Studio 3 Designs in Interior Design Magazine OBJEKT International

by admin on February 19, 2013

Studio 3 Designs is in the latest issue of OBJEKT International, featuring the design and renovation of Casa dos Lagos in Orlando’s historic neighborhood College Park. OBJEKT©International is a premium publication for interior design and architecture with editorial features from around the world, published 4 times a year: in March, June, September, and December.

This unique home was designed by Edward Woodill with symmetry, clean lines, natural materials, and softer textiles and detailing in mind. The extensive use of custom furnishings and fixtures make it a matchless residential experience.

Sun-Drenched Interior Design

The feature, entitled Dancing Sunlight in Casa dos Lagos, highlights the ‘sun-drenched interior in which the light reflecting in the water adds an extra, dancing dimension.’Tall floor-to-ceiling windows and the predominance of white in the interior provide a light and airy ambiance, with sunlight pouring into several of the rooms during the day.

A Dramatic Overhaul in an Historic Community

Renowned immunologist Edwin DeJesus, owner of the home, wanted to transform his home into a unique and modern dwelling, a dramatic overhaul in an historic community. This radical makeover took two years of planning and three years of construction to update both the interior and exterior—a wait that was well worth it.

Woodill had a hand in the design of many of the eye-catching custom details, including the exceptional metalwork, a remarkable ceiling lamp and a mosaicked fireplace. His distinctive vision is also evident in the bamboo elements in the master bathroom and the panoramic view he created in the office.

Beautiful Yet Functional

DeJesus says that his home is now ‘a work of art, with a perfect balance of symmetry and unexpected, asymmetrical details.’ Studio 3 Designs was able to create a finished product that ‘has that splendid cultural characteristic, while retaining the functional aspect.’
